Latvia's airline Air Baltic Corporation AS (airBaltic) was founded in 1995. airBaltic is a hybrid airline that draws best practices from both traditional network airlines and low-cost carriers.
In 2008, airBaltic changed its operating model from a direct carrier to a network airline, making Riga a hub. The airline offers low-cost tickets on its route network covering Europe, Scandinavia, the CIS and the Middle East.
Prices are competitive not only with other airlines, but also with bus, car, train or ferry travel. Tickets are available not only for direct flights, but also for connecting flights.
airBaltic operates all its flights with one type of aircraft - the Airbus A220-300 - the most efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft, offering its passengers a high level of service. The company currently has 43 aircraft in its fleet.
airBaltic offers more than 60 connections from Riga to most cities in Europe, Scandinavia and the Middle East. In addition, airBaltic offers direct flights from Tallinn and Vilnius to many European cities.
